I was out the other day with my girlfriend, Sandy, and I noticed a flier that said
Bikers for Scouts. I wasn’t too sure what it was. I did some Googling and didn’t find much information on it. I found a few places that had some information on it. This will be the 3rd annual Bikers for Scouts.
Bikers for Scouts is a Bike ride benefit to help the Boy Scouts of America in the Great Smoky Mountain Council. It is to help make restorations to Camp Pellissippi.
Camp Pellissippi is a Boy Scout camp located on Norris Lake in Union County area. It was built in the 1940′s.
I remember as a young scout my troop would always go to that camp for the weekend and often for a week. We would help do some community service, trail clearing and other stuff like that.
Scouting was a big part of my life and I highly recommend Scouting to anyone. Plus, I am an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America.
The fundraiser will be held at Tommy’s Motorsports just off Exit 122 on I-75 in Clinton, TN (2401 Andersonville Highway). There will be a 62 mile bike ride.
This event is May 22, 2010 and registration begins at 10 a.m. and the ride starts at noon. It cost $20 per bike with a lunch provided. Door prizes, silent auction and a t-shirt are also available for this wonderful event.
Want to know more information please feel free to contact the Great Smoky Mountain Boy Scout office at (865) 588-6514 or visit www.bsa-gsmc.org.

While listening to The Huckabee Report, May 29, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. on WIVK, I heard that Knoxville, TN has made it to his broadcast. Some guy here in Knoxville, TN has 21 kids. Yes, you read that right. 21 KIDS! He has these 21 kids by 11 different women. Get this! Huckabee adds this young man only makes minimum wage. I think some neutering is order for young me and women that keep popping out kids like that! Don’t you agree? OH yea, this young man got Huckabee’s big “ZERO”.
On a side note, he also talked about the American Flag and how places say it is offensive to display the American Flag! I find nothing wrong with displaying the American Flag. We ought to be proud to be Americans and show it! It was also like this Marine Veteran that has 3 United States Marine Corp emblems on his truck. His home owners association fines $50 per night your car is parked at your own with any kind of decal on it.

Remember my post about a year ago saying about the SmartFIX 40, where about a mile or so was to be closed on I-40 in Knoxville. Well, it is set to reopen soon. Less than one month. They are even reopening it about 18 days earlier then first projected when they started laster year, May 1, 2008. June 12, 2009, they are set to reopen the interstate. That means you won’t have to detour through I-640. I hope this fixes the congestion and such for rush hour traffic. But, we all know that when one construction gets done, another one will start within a mile or so from it. So where will that be? LMAO So this is good news for Downtown Knoxville goers.

Not much longer and a section of Interstate 40 through Knoxville, TN will be closed. This closure happens May 1, 2008. The section between James White Parkway and Hall of Fame Drive (Exits 388A to 389). Yes, it is a small section, but it is very close to downtown! This will be a headache, because it will be closed for 14 months starting this May. As alternative routes you can use I-640 or I-275 to by pass this closure of I-40. SmartFIX40 as they call it. You can find more information at: http://www.smartfix40.com/. You can even see a rendering of what it will look like when it is completed, which is scheduled for July 2009. (14 Months).
I hope that when they get this all fixed it will be a lot better, but you know how construction goes. Once they complete this section, they will move a few miles down the interstate and do another one. Never ending!
